We collect the minimum data needed to send your PDF, understand tool usage, and decide which contractor paperwork features to build next. The MVP does not require an account.

If you request a PDF by email, we store the email address you enter, whether you opted into product updates, delivery status, and the document session needed to connect that request to the generated preview.

We record backend funnel events such as page views, template choices, previews, PDF email requests, and feature-interest clicks. If PostHog is enabled, it may use cookies or similar browser storage to measure product usage. We do not send raw scope text, client names, client emails, or document body text to analytics tools.

Analytics boundaries

PostHog is configured for explicit product events rather than form autocapture, and Do Not Track preferences are respected. Privacy-masked session recording is limited to informational pages and is disabled on both change-order generators. All form fields are masked as an additional safeguard. Analytics may receive aggregate Web Vitals, the page, general device and referral information, chosen template, and workflow outcomes. It does not receive contractor names, client names, project descriptions, scope text, email-field values, PDF contents, or preview text.

Service providers and retention

Railway hosts the application and database, PostHog provides optional product analytics, and Resend handles requested email delivery. These providers process limited information on our behalf. Operational and delivery records are retained while needed to run, secure, and evaluate the service or while marketing consent remains active. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices and contact

PDF email delivery and marketing updates are optional. You may block analytics using browser controls or enable Do Not Track. To ask about, correct, or request deletion of retained information, email hello@contractorpaperwork.com.
